During the week, there are a number of different groups running either at Unit3 or elsewhere.  If you want to find out more about any of these, Contact Us putting the group name in the ‘Attention of’ field.  Or, if you prefer, just come along to the activity/group that interests you to find out more about it.

Sundays at Unit3

Mornings:  We meet at 10am at Unit3 each week to worship God and learn from the Bible together.  We start by meeting altogether before the preschool children, Kids Club and Youth leave for their own groups (see their pages for more details).  Often we will have guest speakers and different members of the church taking part in the service.

Evenings:  On the first Sunday evening of the month, we meet in Unit3 at 7pm to pray for the work of God in the church, the city and the nations.  On the third Sunday we meet to pray in various homes across the city.

As well as meeting on Sundays, we also meet regularly in smaller groups across the city. Meeting informally in people’s homes, housegroups provide a space to explore issues together, studying the Bible and discussing its application to our lives. We can all contribute and learn from each other in a way that just isn’t possible on a Sunday morning. Each group has a varied programme, planned to meet the needs of its members and help us grow as followers of God. Activities include praying for each other, worship, bible study, social events.

Drop-ins and Communion

Between 10am and noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Unit3 is open and serves teas and coffees to anyone who wants to call in for a chat.  It’s a space to meet old friends or meet new ones.  And if you’d like to talk about something that’s troubling you, there’s always someone happy to listen.

Painted Fabrics

Painted Fabrics is a sheltered housing complex in Meadowhead just up the road from Unit3.  Each Wednesday morning, a team from MCF runs a coffee morning at Painted Fabrics, followed by a short Christian talk for residents of Painted Fabrics and the surrounding area.  It’s a great place to meet with friends and to learn together and pray for each other.

There is also a monthly Songs of Praise service (on the second Sunday of each month).

White Willows

The White Willows ExtraCare housing complex opened in Jordanthorpe a couple of years ago.  Every Wednesday afternoon, a team of people from MCF and from St James' Parish Church, Norton, host an hour long 'Songs of Praise' with prayer, a short talk based on the Bible and space to chat together over a drink.  If you’re a resident or neighbour of the White Willows centre, you’re very welcome to join us.

Prayer on the Precinct

The Prayer on the Precinct team take God’s love out into the local community in a very real way.  Basing themselves in the shopping centre outside Unit3, the team provide a place for people to talk over a drink and will happily pray with anyone who requests it.  Prayer can be for healing or for any other situation that you'd like the team to pray for.

The team also look after some of the flower beds and the hanging baskets around the shops, helping to create a more pleasant environment for local people to enjoy whilst they shop and work.
