What is a Parish Nurse?

A Parish Nurse is an experienced, registered nurse who works alongside the local church and other healthcare provides to offer whole person health care. This includes health promotion and health advice as well as spiritual care and support for people in their time of need. 

As Christians we believe that God cares for everyone whether or not they come to churchso it is a free service of all faiths or none. 

What can the Parish Nurse do for you?

The Parish Nurse can take and monitor your blood pressure as well as giving personal, confidental health advice. They can also refer you on to your GP and other healthcare professionals as appropriate. 

You can receive practical support through our team of voluntary supporters. The Parish Nurse can also offer prayer as well as support and a listening ear. 

Your local Parish Nurse

Kate Booth is our Parish Nurse, Kate is a registered nurse with over 30 years of experience working within the NHS. She has also worked as a Specialist Nurse in eating disorders and has certificates in Counselling and CBT.

Kate is a member of Meadowhead Christian Fellowship where she attends regularly. She was commissioned as a Parish Nurse in January 2013.

Kate is available at the Parish Nurse drop in, which runs at Meadowhead Christian Fellowship on Thursday mornings.
