Our New Development
In early 2023 the church purchased the former Beachwood Nursery (and, prior to that, the Jordanthorpe pub) to become a centre for the community activities MCF currently does and to allow further development. Architect plans have been drawn up and we are currently pursuing funding options to allow the work to begin. Whilst the footprint of the building will remain, broadly the same, the internal structure will be re-modelled to provide an open and spacious ground floor with cafe-style kitchen, tables, chairs, games etc and a safe space for people to gather. The ground floor will also house the clothes bank / low-cost shop to provide clothing to those in need. A dedicated prayer room on the ground floor will be a key part of the building – we firmly believe this is a building that God has led us to purchase and to use to show the love Jesus has for the community in many practical ways. Prayer is a key part of that and this will be a space for anyone to use to spend time praying.
Its heartwarming to see 146 Dyche Road get a biblical makeover! Praise be to the Lord for guiding us to such a project. The ground floor café-style setup sounds divine, offering coffee, community, and a clothes bank – a trifecta of divine service! The prayer room, naturally, is essential for spiritual fortification. And the second floor’s worldly wisdom – benefits, TEFL, and IT – seems like a modern-day miracles ministry. Choosing 146 from Psalm 146 is brilliant, perfectly capturing the essence of uplifting others. May this venture be a beacon of practical Christianity, proving God’s faithfulness in action, one coffee and counselling session at a time! Amen.
